Welcome to the Shannonside Recreational Campus
The Shannonside Recreational Campus (SRC) is a proposed state-of-the-art, all-inclusive sports and recreational facility designed to serve the entire Shannonside region. This transformative campus will provide world-class facilities, ensuring that athletes of all ages, abilities, and sporting and recreational interests have access to the resources they need to train, compete, and stay active—right here at home.
Construction is currently underway and the facility is set to launch in 2027. At the heart of the SRC will be is the Shannonside Peace Arena, a cutting-edge indoor sports hub funded through the PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). Developed in partnership with Leitrim County Council, the SRC will include:
- A full-size 4G all-weather pitch for GAA, soccer, and rugby
- A 400m, 8-lane tartan running track
- The Shannonside Peace Arena with multi-sport courts & high-performance gym
- Outdoor grass pitch
- Hurling wall, changing facilities, and parking
This once-in-a-generation project will remove barriers to participation, allowing clubs, schools, and individuals to train and compete locally, without having to travel outside the county.
The SRC is built for the community, by the community—a place where everyone can Play, Perform, and Participate.

Over the years, the SRC committee has worked tirelessly to secure funding at local, national, and European levels, ensuring that this once in-a-generation facility becomes a reality.
